Authorized Send
Authorized Send is a MEAP® (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) application developed by Canon USA. It is a server-less application installed and operated on a Canon MEAP enabled MFP device, which offers users open access to everyday walk-up features such as copying but requires authentication to all send features, Scan to E-mail, Scan to Fax and Scan to Folder.
Authorized Send supports the following key customer requirements:
- Restricting scanning and sending capabilities only to authorized users by authenticating to a variety of flexible servers and protocols.
- Simplified intuitive workflow for basic Scan to E-mail, Scan to Fax and Scan to Folder.
- Allow all users to perform everyday walk-up operations, while maintaining authentication during Send activities.

Universal Send
When configured with Universal Send, imageRUNNER devices are transformed from digital copier/printer/scanners into digital communications hubs - the center of any workgroup's or department's document creation and distribution applications.
Universal Send enables users to scan hard-copy originals, convert them into digital documents, and push them to multiple destinations in one operation. Scanned documents may be distributed via the Internet, public telephone lines, using the company's existing Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure, and printed - in any combination.
Universal Send ships standard with either 10- or 20-user versions of eCopy Desktop, which enables desktop manipulation/annotation of documents and direct linkages to fax servers, e-mail address books, and document management systems.
PaperToOffice Pro
PaperToOffice Pro is a simple to use software application consisting of embedded and desktop components that converts paper documents to electronic Microsoft Office formats. Using PaperToOffice Pro, any end user is capable of scanning paper based documents and selecting the Microsoft Office output type of their choice directly from an intuitive user interface at select Canon imageRUNNER MFPs.
Once scanned, the PaperToOffice client automatically executes the OCR engine and converts the file to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, text or PDF. Using its high-accuracy OCR engine, PaperToOffice Pro allows all levels of users from beginners to professionals to extract characters from the scanned paper documents, recognizing font size and color in the document automatically.
